Current Genocides
Burmese genocide
There is a genocide occuring in Burma. This genocide is being cause by the government against many religious and ethnic minorities. They are being persecuted in a variety of ways. They are being attacked by the government, and there are restrictions on how many children they can have, to stop the religion/minority from spreading. It is also extremely hard for them to get food or go to another town to visit.
D.R Congo genocide
There is a genocide occuring in D.R Congo. When the genocide in Rwanda ended in 1994, the people causing the genocide fled to the D.R Congo.The neigboring countries of Uganda and Rwanda then declared war on the D.R Congo. Then, when the D.R Congo's government was overthrown, the leader of the attacks turned on Rwanda and declared war on them. The government has been performing genocide on civilians, much like the Syrian genocide.
sUDAN GENOCIDe
There is another genocide occuring in Sudan. It is being caused by the government. They are hiring a vicious militia, known as the Janjaweed, to hunt down and kill civilians. There have been many deaths so far, and many more to come.
Syrian genocide
There is a genocide occuring in Syria. It is being caused by the government. It started when the government raided and attacked a peaceful protest. This was a protest on the capture of some political prisoners. The protest is known as the "Day of Rage" protest, and it was in March 2011. That is when the genocide started. It has been the rebels vs. the government. The violence has ranged from raids to chemical weaponry.
